What to choose?
Management Consultant or Interim Manager?

There are some overlaps between the services of a management consultant and an interim manager. Where are the actual differences?

100% focus on the company’s result

The interim manager is the company’s man. When an interim manager comes in, there is only one thing on the agenda, and that is to generate success for the benefit of the company and the employees.

Strategy and Implementation

They both work on a strategic level. However, the consultant finalized the job when handing over the strategy, whereas the interim manager also rolls up the sleeves and implements the necessary changes and adaptations. When the company is a success, the interim manager is a success.

Not limited by consulting houses

An interim manager is not limited by the methods and framework of a consultancy. There is no ‘one size fits all’ and the interim manager will apply his many years of experience and competences to develop solutions which suit the challenges of the individual company.

Loyal to the hiring company

An interim manager reports directly to the hiring company, and not through a third-party agency. This means that the hiring company is well informed and closely involved in the process. This will undoubtedly prove to be a great asset for the future of the company.

No incentive for upselling

The interim manager does not think about additional sales, as there is no incentive for this. The interim is hired to solve the task within the given timeframe, and there is a common interest in getting 100% to the finishing line.

Cost effective

An interim manager is attached to the company on a fixed monthly fee – irrespective of how many hours are put into the task. Compared to regular management consultants on an hourly basis, an interim manager is cheaper 9 out of 10 times.
