Interim CFO for a Danish Growth Company in a Complex Organizational Setup

URGENT ASSIGNMENT
Our client is the Danish division of an international private equity-backed group. With a strong growth agenda and recent mergers in the local market, the organization is entering a critical phase of integration and transformation. We are seeking an Interim CFO to provide leadership and structure across finance, legal, and IT.
The company comprises several merged entities, and the CFO’s task is to ensure transparency, strengthen financial control, and support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights. The role is part of the local executive team and includes close collaboration with both the Danish CEO and the Group CFO.
This position requires strong experience with project-based business models and the ability to work with complex financial topics such as work-in-progress accounting and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Finance & Accounting function in Denmark (+20 FTE), including controlling, accounting, legal, and IT
- Build a unified and transparent financial structure across legacy entities
- Optimize reporting, forecasting, and month-/year-end processes
- Develop stron and clear reporting to Group finance
- Ensure correct recognition and management of work-in-progress (WIP) and project economy
- Jointly own the P&L and act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Group CFO
- Lead financial aspects of post-merger integration and implement stronger governance and system support
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Support the development of a high-performing finance team aligned with the group’s target operating model
- Enable decision-making through clear financial insights, cost control, and scenario planning
Profile Requirements:
- Proven CFO experience in PE-backed and project-based businesses
- Solid understanding of project economy and WIP accounting (work in progress)
- Experience with integration, transformation, and system optimization
- Strong strategic and operational finance skills
- Hands-on approach, integrity, and ability to collaborate across functions
- Fluent in Danish and English at a professional level
